Damon writes in a warm friendly way - it's almost like he's in the room speaking to you. And he pitches everything at a helpful level. The situation of the need for "mental resilience" is outlined well, and the plan that Damon will take us through is clearly laid out. He pulls no punches, saying right up front that we will need to do some work and put a real effort in - but he is also very encouraging with what the benefits will be 'on the other side'. The book is divided into clear and readable segments, so it is not overwhelming. The "exercises" are understandable and doable. Damon is an excellent coach and "training buddy", to get you through and make us tougher for life in a very tough world! I enjoyed reading the book. I worked through the exercises and learnt about myself and indeed began to increase my "mental toughness". Life in today's world can pose lots of challenges and this book really helps you to be prepared and make the most of life. Damon shows how to take the challenges and obstacles, and even failures, and use them to bring something better. I heartily recommend this book.
